Kindergarten Alphabet and Phonics

This page includes kindergarten worksheets related to phonics and the alphabet. The worksheets are suitable for classroom or home use, and you may print as many as you like.

Kindergarten students will learn the names and sounds of letters and should be able to properly form each letter. They will learn about digraphs, CVC words, and word families. These are important skills needed to learn to read. Reading aloud with your child is not only crucial at this time but also a great way to spend quality time together!

It is our hope that the worksheets here will be an extension to the learning that is currently taking place in kindergarten. These kindergarten worksheets are intended to enhance your child's skills and introduce new concepts in a fun, stress-free manner.

Identifying Vowels Worksheet. Item 3146

Happy Horse Vowels: Worksheet 1 - Identify, circle, and print the vowels shown in the picture.

Beginning Sounds

Beginning Sounds B, C, and D: Phonics Worksheet Set - Students will say the name of each picture then print the beginning letter of each word. Additional pages in this set include a page for each individual letter (B, C, D) and requires students to color the pictures on the page that begin with that letter.

Beginning Sounds d, j, k, m, w - Say the name of each picture and circle the letter with the same beginning sound.

The Sound of Letter B: Look and Find Worksheet - Visual discrimination, fine motor skills, printing practice, and spelling practice are incorporated into this worksheet. Students will circle ten things in the picture that begin with letter b, then list the items.

Beginning Sounds h, c, t, a, b - Students circle the letter that makes the beginning sound of the pictures shown in each row.

Beginning Sound of Letter M: Worksheet 2 - Students will say the name of each picture and color the pictures that begin with the m sound.

Last Letter On the Farm: Worksheet 1 - Students will say the name of the animal or thing pictured that you might find on a farm. They will complete ths spelling of each word by adding the ending consonant to each word.

Last Letter On the Farm: Worksheets 2 - Add the last letter to the tools and equipment that you might find on a farm.

Ending Consonants Set 1 - Now you can provide extra practice for your students in identifying ending consonant sounds using the three worksheets in this set. Students will trace and print a consonant letter, then color the picture that ends with the letter sound. Three worksheets (b,d,f,g) (k,l,m,n) (p,r,s,t) to help your students recognize the ending sounds of words.

Last Letter On the Farm Worksheets 3 - Add the last letter to each of the crops that might be grown on a farm.
