Reading Tips
Welcome to our Books for Kids Page. Kids naturally love stories. Encourage your kids to read all types of books, not just those that are age appropriate. If they have a special interest in something, provide them with a library card so they can explore all aspects of their interests. Don't be afraid to read novels or "baby" books to your kids. A great book is great no matter what age it was written for!

cover Mooses Come Walking
By Arlo Guthrie

Cute, simple book that puts a twist on what a zoo is. What do Mooses do at night? They look in your window and think it's a zoo. For the faint of heart, the book does say "it's best just to lie there pretending you're dead". Beginning readers can easily master this silly story poem.

Story of Ferdinand
By Munro Leaf

The famous tale of Ferdinand, the bull, who would rather just sit and smell the flowers instead of go to the bull fights. This story let's kids know that is is O.K. to be different. My only regret is they no longer make the matching T-Shirt.
